About MeI’m a graduate of Virginia Tech and a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Virginia. I have over 10 years of experience working with individuals, couples and adolescent families. I have presented and published on a variety of topics including relationships, substance abuse, domestic violence, and diversity. I have led children, adolescent, multi-couple and multi-family groups, as well as conducted pre-marital workshops. I have worked in a variety of treatment settings to include outpatient, intensive-outpatient and partial hospitalization programs.
My therapy approach incorporates a variety of theoretical perspectives in an effort to fully understand each person’s unique struggles. This then drives the development of a thoughtful and comprehensive plan for change to help each person live mindfully with intention and purpose. By using techniques towards solutions, I have developed an approach that is driven toward brief therapy with lasting changes. In addition to my clinical work, I’m a mother, DIY-er, and cat owner. |
A tree is a symbol of antiquity and immense and enduring strength. A general symbolic meaning of a tree can be interpreted as protection. A widespread symbol of the tree is the tree of life, it's body rooted in earth with its crown dancing in the sky. A tree is symbolic of nurturing energies if it is a fruit bearing tree. More tree symbolism and symbolic meanings of the tree represent...a recovery from illness, ambition or wishes fulfilled, having to do with family, blessings, good fortune, stability, shelter and security. - Presley Love |
